What is whisker fatigue?

Having earned my doctorate in Whiskerology from the University of Catbridge, I do know a thing or two about how whiskers work. As cats, we’re very particular about our food, of course. But we’re also very particular about our bowls.

Whiskers are wonderful things. They can help us detect changes in the air current, so we can navigate our way through narrow opening and dark spaces. But that also means we can be subject to an affliction known as “whisker fatigue”.

Allow me to elaborate…

When our whiskers are forced into close contact with the sides of our bowls, it can get extremely painful. And that’s why we don’t always finish our food. Not necessarily because it’s the wrong food – but because it’s the wrong bowl.

The signs of whisker fatigue:

Leaving food in the bowl, but is still hungry
Pulling food out of the bowl with their mouth or paw to eat off the floor
Leaving a mess behind on the floor
Only eating form the center of the bowl
Acting aggressive toward other animals in the house during mealtime
Standing by the bowl before eating for a period of time, pacing around the bowl, or being hesitant to eat, though hungry

My cat doesn’t have whisker fatigue. Can I still use Dr. Catsby’s bowl?

My cat is still making a mess with his/her food after trying Dr. Catsby’s. What should I do?

The Dr. Catsby’s bowl is like riding a bike for the first time. At first you may begin on a shaky note, but the more you use it, the more streamlined it becomes. After a few tries, your cat’s meal time should become shipshape and tidy.

Dr. Catsby's bowl works best with premium dry food or soup-like wet foods. Some wet foods that are sticky or clumpy may be better suited for a large flat plate.

What type of metal is the bowl made from?

Dr. Catsby’s Bowl is made from #304 food service grade stainless steel. This is the same grade of stainless steel as used in milk pasteurization, beer brewing, cookware, and eating utensils.

Stainless steel is one of the most common materials found in kitchens today. It's used in everything from appliances to cookware, dishware, flatware, and utensils because it is durable, easy to sanitize, and corrosion resistant to various acids found in meats, milk, fruits and vegetables. Most importantly though, stainless steel is a safe option when it comes to use with food and beverage, as there are no chemicals that can migrate into your food from these products.

Is this bowl BPA free?

Yes! We're proud to say that the grade of stainless steel used makes our bowl BPA free.

What types of food can be used in this bowl?

Dr. Catsby's bowl is recommended for use with dry food or wet food!
Some sticky wet foods may take some time for your pet to adjust to the shape.

Is this bowl for an indoor or outdoor cat?

This bowl is purrrfectly designed for any cat that is lucky enough to get their paws on it.

How to care for your bowl

I recommend hand washing the bowl and mat with warm soap and water. Towel dry.
If you prefer the dishwasher, wash only the bowl on the normal setting. Do NOT place the rubber mat in the dishwasher.

All orders generally take 1-2 business days to process before they are shipped out to the customer. Shipping time varies depending on the location.

An email notification with a tracking number will be sent to you once I ship your order. To check the status of your shipment, click on the tracking number displayed in the email.

You are not liable for your order while it is being shipped. All Dr. Catsby shipments are fully insured by Drcatsby.com.

I do ship to Military APO, as well as FPO boxes. Please allow additional time for orders shipped to these addresses.

Shipping fees are non-refundable unless the item has a defect. Returns are accepted up to 30 days from the ship date.

International Shipping

International shipping is available as an on-request basis. To make an international order, please email info@drcatsby.com and allow for 24 hours for a response.

Returns, Exchanges, or Defective Products

We want you to shop with confidence and be completely satisfied with your purchase. If for any reason you are dissatisfied, you may return or exchange within 30 days from the date of shipment.

We gladly accept items that are free of scratches, blemishes, and signs of wear or tear. Please contact our customer service at info@drcatsby.com to obtain shipping instructions.

For your protection, we recommend shipping returns insured using FedEx, UPS, or USPS Express or Priority Mail. Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer. If the package has been damaged or tampered with, it will be returned to its original sender.

Please allow 7-12 business days for your credit to be processed after the item(s) have been received and inspected. Refunds will be issued using the same type of payment used in the original purchase.
